The First major assignment was useful because there were lessons and tests outside of the actual assignment. The assignment was a challenge in itself because the class is online, so each of us individually do not know each other. Learning how to communicate with one another via email and organizing around everyone’s schedule. Learning how to cooperate with complete strangers and write a paper in a short amount of time.
The paper itself was extremely helpful and useful because it is important to know what is going on in the world. As a college student I am either sleeping, working, or going to class, so sometimes it is hard to be caught up on the daily news. Searching a topic that causes a lot of controversy between the government and the public was good to read and form an opinion over. Knowing how to break down an article to find the specifics and why certain research was used.
I completely agree with you on the basis that the first assignment was very useful. It was definitely a struggle for myself as well learning to organize a meeting time around other people's schedules, especially people that I personally did not know, and barely had anything in common with besides the fact that we are enrolled in the same online class. I like how you said "Learning to cooperate with complete strangers and write a paper in a short amount of time" because that definitely sums up my first assignment perfectly. These are all stepping stools to success in life as well as our future careers.
ReplyDeleteI definitelty agree with your post. The first assignt was more useful than the second one. Communicating as a group for the first time is not easy. Its like taking a risk because you don't know how the croup will communicate with each other. Or even try to get the assignment done. Without solid team work and communication the group assignment will be hard to finish.It was good that we get to use what we have been learning at the beginning at the semester and apply it tour assignment. After you get the first assignment done with team work all the rest of the assignments aren't as hard
